Bringing Value-Added Services to Our Clients
When working with an employer’s health plan, we consult with multiple insurance carriers in order to identify options that are often times overlooked in the marketplace. In today’s world where there is often very little pricing difference between carriers, we feel that the value lies with the agency you partner with and the services they are able to provide. At Tabit, Arganbright & Hazelbaker, these are some of the services we provide that we believe sets us apart:
- Knowledgable Staff – We have worked with employee benefits and employer sponsored group health plans for nearly 30 years. Our staff has over 80 years of combined experience and our agents over 50 years.
- Marketplace Analysis – we have strong working relationship with only reputable, highly rated insurance carriers. We work with current and future clients to get the information necessary to provide an accurate proposal and comparison relative to their current insurance program. If changes are necessary, we are with them every step of the way from employer administration, employee enrollment meetings to help develop an understanding of the coverage being offered, and making our office and expertise available to assist with any and all service issues.
- COBRA – this employer responsibility law has strict administrative duties that carry high penalties for non-compliance for groups with 20 or more W-2 employees. We offer licensed software that is very effective and efficient in aiding an employer in fulfilling their responsibilities under the law. It includes everything from the initial notice to election forms to monthly billing functions. In addition, we provide on-going support for the software, we pay all licensing fees, and we perform the initial setup functions necessary to get the program up and running all in-house.
- Summary Plan Descriptions – an employer requirement mandated by ERISA, each employee must be provided with this documentation which contains specific information regarding their health plan. Though this applies to large and small employers alike, many small employers and agents operate as if the law only applies to larger groups (100 + covered employees), and consequently are not in compliance with the law. In conjunction with our legal counsel we have developed an SPD that we are able to modify based on the particular benefits being offered, which then can be distributed by the employer to employees on a regularly scheduled basis.
- Consumer Driven Health Care – in keeping with ever-changing legislation and developments in healthcare, we are experienced in the various ways an employer may structure their benefit plan design, whether using a traditional plan, dual option, flexible spending accounts (FSA), or a high deductible health plan (HDHP) in conjunction with Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRA), Medical Expense Reimbursement Plans (MERP), or Health Savings Accounts (HSA).
- Privacy information / HIPAA Compliance – we have worked closely with an employee benefits law firm to be fully aware of the requirements of the HIPAA Privacy Law as it impacts employer health plans and to develop the necessary documentation required for the various instances where individual privacy is at issue. We are then able to work with employers to help them develop their approach in handling their employees’ protected health information as well as providing the forms necessary to comply with the law.
