Joe Arganbright
Joe started his insurance career in 1964 while still in college. He obtained his CLU degree in 1973 and has specialized in individual and group life, health and disability insurance his entire career. In 1990 Joe added the area of Long Term Care Insurance to his practice, and earned the professional designation of CLTC (certified in long term care) in 2003. He is a founding partner of Tabit, Arganbright & Hazelbaker, working closely with individual and business clients. Joe has been a member of the Ohio and Columbus Health Underwriters Association for over 20 years, a member of the National, Ohio and Columbus Association of Financial Advisors for 35 years, and a member of the National and Columbus Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals for over 30 years. |
Jay Hazelbaker
Jay began his insurance career after graduating with a Finance degree from Miami University in 1994. After three years of underwriting and product development experience on the company side, and one year as an agent with a large commercial insurance brokerage firm, Jay began building his own agency in the fall of 1998. Maintaining a focus and attention to detail, service and hard work, the business grew successfully for 4 ½ years before merging with Tabit, Arganbright & Associates in March of 2003. Jay serves on the board of directors of the Columbus Association of Health Underwriters and retains membership in the Ohio, and National Association of Health Underwriters. As the managing partner of Tabit, Arganbright & Hazelbaker, Jay looks forward to continuing the past successes of the company while directing his efforts to building the business and future of the agency. |
Margaret Tabit (retired)
During a career spanning over forty years, Margaret has experienced every aspect of sales and management in a Life and Health insurance agency. She is committed to employing ethics and due diligence to the sales and service process of insurance. She is a founding partner of Tabit, Arganbright & Hazelbaker. She has worked closely with the clients and insurance carriers and is well-versed on all the necessary employer compliance requirements of insurance legislation. Margaret has served as President of the Columbus Association of Health Underwriters, on various committees of the Ohio Association of Health Underwriters, and as a former member of the Insurance Education Advisory Council of the Ohio Department of Insurance. |
Mike Turney
Mike is a graduate of The Ohio State University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. He brings over 26 years experience in the life and health insurance industry, with advanced educational credentials of a Certified Life Underwriter (CLU) in 1999, and a Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) in 2004. He specializes in health, life, disability, long-term care, dental, voluntary, and annuities for individuals, small businesses, and associations. Mike’s experience in working for the company or carrier side for over 8 years has given him significant negotiating strategies for his clients. His 18 years in overseeing his agency accounts have given him the opportunity to work closely to serve the needs of his clients, with an expertise in reconfiguring and resolving the insurance issues of today’s small business owner, accounting for substantial savings. Mike joined Tabit, Arganbright, and Hazelbaker, Inc., in 2010 for continued growth and opportunities in the small group, executive benefits and individual marketplace. He is associated with the National Association of Independent Financial Advisors, and is a member of the Columbus Association of Health Underwriters.

Rhonda Lott
More than 20 years ago, Rhonda started working with the former association group insurance trust that provided coverage to the Ohio Lumber, Ohio Nursery & Landscape and Ohio Forestry Association members. Since 2000, Rhonda has worked with the agency, acting as a liaison between our clients and the insurance carriers for administration claims issues, and group implementation. She is also well versed on legislative requirements pertaining to COBRA, Medicare Secondary coordination, and other rules and regulations pertaining to employee benefits administration. |
Shelly Roth
Shelly first joined our agency part time shortly after the birth of her first child in 1989. Full time since 1990, she maintains our data base and computers with ease (although we know it is not so) and handles the office’s accounting functions. In addition, she also works in handling the renewal and administration of a large block of our long-term disability clients. |
Carol Weldon
Carol has worked on both the insurance carrier and agency side of the life and health business since 1966. She joined Tabit, Arganbright & Associates in 1982 and is often the first voice you hear when you call our office. A licensed insurance agent, Carol has primary responsibility for working with the agency’s individual clients, voluntary group products, and new business group processing. |
